THE Duchess of Cambridge has topped Vanity Fair's best-dressed list, earning a spot for the third year in a row.
Joining Catherine on the list is dapper brother-in-law Prince Harry, although Prince William failed to make the cut.
Australian-born Princess Mary, who favours Danish designers, was also named one of the world’s best-dressed.
Vanity Fair reports that Catherine has spent a whopping $US55,000
($52,000) on jewellery and clothing in the past six months, and is under
pressure to change outfits up to five times a day.
However, the Duchess has refused to hire a royal dresser, preferring to
shop for herself at favourites like TopShop and support British
designers including Alexander McQueen and Alice Temperley.
In addition to praising Catherine’s style, Vanity Fair gives a sneak
peek into the royal couple’s laid-back lifestyle. The pair are
enthusiastic foodies who make their own sausages and jam, and would
rather stay in with a favourite DVD - including current obsession "The
Killing" - than attend high society parties, it reports.
Other famous faces to make the best-dressed list include versatile
redheaded actor Jessica Chastain, who won praise for her striking black
and gold Alexander McQueen frock at the Oscars. German actor Diane
Kruger also made the list, as did singer Alicia Keys and designer Stella
McCartney.
Along with Prince Harry, Elle McPherson’s ex, businessman Arki Busson,
rapper Jay-Z, and US "Today" show host Matt Lauer were also named some
of the world’s best-dressed men.
And New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady must be getting fashion
tips from supermodel wife Giselle Bundchen, after he also made the cut.
